API Instructions: Options for displaying Bump in your application

As a Bumptm API user, you must:

  1. Always use the word "bump" (not tap, shake, etc.) to describe the interaction.
  2. There should be no suggestion that this technology was developed by anyone else.
  3. You must use either our icon or logo during the interaction, except in the case where your UI does not change during a bump. In those cases, you need to have attribution elsewhere in the application, preferably reachable from the bumpable screen.

Attribution options for your application:

  1. Use the Bump logotype with your own text, which may or may not include the words "Bumptm" or "Bump"
  2. Use a Bump "b" icon plus your own text

The Bump logotype should always have clear space around all four sides, equal to the height of ascender of the "b" and descender of the "p" in the logotype.

When to use "Bump" and when to use "Bumptm"

When referring to the action of bumping the phones (as in "Bump to play", "To share, bump your phones") no TM is necessary.
When referring to the Bump brand, company, or technology, use the TM symbol.
