Android Developer

We're looking for someone great to join our small, fast-paced team that helps hundreds of thousands of people each day connect and interact by simply bumping their phones together.

Responsibilities

Design and build the next generation of Bump's Android app and API.
Create new, exciting features and push your code to hundreds of thousands of existing Android Bump users.
Potentially develop apps and Bump APIs for other mobile platforms.
Keep up-to-date on the latest Android SDK developments, respond to customer feedback & testing.

Requirements

Experience developing native Android apps or other mobile apps is strongly preferred.
Expert in Java (Python and C/C++/Obj-C are a plus).
An eye for great design and user experiences.
Passionate about quality.
Ability to communicate within a close-knit team.
Hard-working and a fast learner.

Nice-to-Have's

One or more Android apps already developed.
Startup experience.

Data Scientist

Responsibilities

At Bump we have a diverse collection of data sets: network performance, user behavior, social network data, and many types of handset data. We want to analyze/model/mine all of it, and use the resulting insights to increase performance & usability and make the right business decisions. For this position we are looking for a true polymath.

Requirements

Medium to advanced probability/statistics and math-heavy background. Degree in stats, math, engineering or science.
Intense curiosity
Ability to expose the fundamentals of any phenonmena (and build a model).
Data analysis (including scientific) / graphing / machine learning / pattern recognition / signal processing
Ability to code in one or more of: Python / Java / C / C++ / Objective C / Matlab / IgorPro / R / Javascript

Nice-to-Have's

Startup experience.
Experience modeling many types of real data.
